Public Health Notice
This notice is to inform that 2 additional cases of mononucleosis have been confirmed at Woodland Park High School, as well as one confirmed case at Summit Elementary. Mononucleosis is a highly contagious viral infection, primarily transmitted by saliva. Symptoms take 4-6 weeks to develop. Mono can be transmitted from one person to another PRIOR to showing any outward signs or symptoms of the infection. Signs of this infection include HIGH FEVER (>101 degrees), extreme sore throat with difficulty swallowing and swollen neck glands, extreme fatigue and body aches. These symptoms last from 2-4 weeks, and complete recovery can take up to 2-3 months. Please click here for the complete letter and instructions. Preschool Options
The PAL Program is Woodland Park School District’s Early Intervention Program. There is a PAL Program at all three elementary schools. It is a developmentally appropriate preschool for children ages 3-5, including children with special needs and children who are eligible for the Colorado Preschool Program. (CPP).
